Annual Report - 2019-20

Sevaniketan has been witnessing a continuous change both in its Curricular and Co-Curricular activities. Keeping in view the current developments in the field of Education it is trying to integrate all contemporary technologies to provide a full-fledged education to its students.

The Academic session began on 22nd of May 2019.

I congratulate the students of class X for their excellent performance in the CBSE Examination. Out of 42 students 14 students secured 90+ percentages, 10 students 80+ percentage and 07 students 70+ percentage.

World Environment day was observed on 5th June. President Ln. Jacob Thomas Paul flagged off a student rally to create awareness on environment. A tree planting programme was also organized. Mime show on save nature was enacted by high school students.

Investiture Ceremony:  Elections were held to elect the school leaders for the current academic year .The leaders for the academic year 2019-20 were inducted on 15th June. President Ln. Jacob Thomas Paul installed the new team.

Health and Hygiene among girl students become an essential part of their life. A session on various health and hygiene issues among girl children was held on 2nd June.

International Yoga Day was celebrated on 21st June. All the Students were made to perform suryanamaskara to mark the occasion.

Inter School Patriotic song Singing Competition was held on 18th July. 19 schools participated in the programme. Mysore west lions Sevaniketan School won the third prize

Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August. The Tri Colour Flag was hoisted by Col. Dr. M. Dayananda, Director J.S.S.Hospital. Students presented a colorful field display.

Darshan Memorial Volleyball and Throw ball Tournament was held on 19th August.  20 Throw ball teams and 40 Volley ball teams participated in the event. Our School bagged the First and third place in throw ball and third place in volley ball.

Teacher’s day was celebrated on 5th September. The Management honoured the teachers for their untiring service to the society.

Hindi Week was observed from 14th September to 19th September. Various activities were held to mark the celebrations.

Fancy-dress competition was held on 7th September for nursery classes, I thank the Lion Ladies for their support in judging the event.

Inter school Quiz Competition was held on 3rd August.27 schools participated in the programme. Lions Sevaniketan school got the third prize.

Open day was conducted on 12th October, President Ln.Jacob Thomas Paul, Treasurer Ln.Ali Vagh Inaugurated the event. Nearly 600 exhibits were on display.

Kannada Rajyothsava was celebrated on 2nd of November

Annual Sports Meet was held on 8th and 9th of November. Dr.Ramani, Football coach, Maharani College Mysore inaugurated the Sports meet.

Club President Ln.Dr.Mahesh Rao was the chief guest for the valedictory function.

On 14th November Children’s day was celebrated. Teachers presented a variety programme and entertained the students

Library week was observed from 14th November to 20th November. Various activities were held as a part of the celebrations.

To recognize various talents of the students, monthly literary activities were conducted. I thank the lion ladies who have extended a helping hand to judge the events.

Tinkering Lab: To encourage make in India programme students of class VI to VIII are exposed to skill based activities in Collaboration with Science Ashram.

Academics: Tests and Examinations were conducted as per the schedule in the school calendar.

Orientation programmes for parents of class IX and X were held to help parents to understand the new pattern of Assessment.

RTE Admission: There are 135 students enrolled under the RTE scheme from Class LKG to Class V.

This programme focused on sharing caring with the underprivileged. There was an overwhelmed encouragement from the parents and other patrons also.

The Awards day function was held on 14th December.School President Ln.Jacob Thomas Paul and School Secretary Ln.Satish Rao distributed certificates to the winners. Around 300 students won prizes in various events

Teacher Training Programmes

CBSE has been very dynamic and is trying to bring in various changes in the teaching-learning process and also in the assessment pattern across the school curriculum.

The Centre of excellence established in Chennai has been conducting various workshops for updating the teachers with the current practices.

Principal attended Resource training programme at Chennai and Bangalore.

Teachers also attended various Capacity Building Programmes conducted by Centre of Excellence and Mysore Sahodaya,

 Sevaniketan also provides ample opportunities and a platform for children to express their innate abilities in various activities

The School feels proud and keeps in records the students who have brought laurels by participating in various competitions conducted by different organizations. Around 200 students have brought laurels during the year 2019-20.

Our students have been actively taking part in all the competitions conducted by various organizations at the city, district, state and  national level  

The awards list in the daily assembly programme speaks about it and they have been featured in the school magazine Our School has been encouraging students to appear for the drawing exams conducted by KSEEB. 21 students appeared for Lower and Higher Exams. 12 students have secured Distinctions and 8 students secured First Class

Medical checkup for students were regularly conducted

Excursions were organized for all students and teachers to refresh themselves from their daily activities.

The School Management has been improving the facilities provided to the students.The school has a fully-fledged multipurpose basketball, tennis, skating and a wooden, shuttle court. It has also installed a 10KV, solar    Power plant and a Rain water harvesting system.

ISO Certification -The School has been awarded with ISO 9001-2015 certificate and is an ISO certified school.

The year has seen lots of changes in the academic front and we have been able to update ourselves to the changes.  Today 655 Students are going to enthrall all of us with their cultural show and make this event a memorable one.

I am proud to declare that we have a highly dedicated management who have been very pro-active and guiding us in all the activities positively

Further I also wish to inform that we are having one of the best dedicated staffs who have been working hard, keeping in pace with the current demands of the society. The year has seen lots of new ventures with challenges and opportunities; I feel that my team has performed to best of their ability.

I will be failing in my duty if I don’t thank my School Administrator Mr.Thrinesh, my Vice Principal Ms.Shobha Periera, all the teachers and other staff for their unconditional support in completing all the tasks assigned for the year successfully.

To sum up I thank my management, staff and parents for their co-operation at every point of time and expect the same support in our future endeavors.
